You know what they say, “Go big or go home,” and when it comes to a first birthday party, why not make it unforgettable? With Kolby Bowman of Amanda Reed Weddings leading the way, Mila’s carousel-themed celebration was filled with charm. Envision dreamy florals, whimsical details, and the perfect amount of magic, making you fall in love with every thoughtful touch.

From The Planner

“There’s something so magical about a baby’s first birthday – and Mila’s was no exception. Designing this celebration alongside the team at Samantha’s Garden was a true dream. We envisioned a whimsical carousel theme filled with soft pastel hues, lush florals, and charming details that felt straight out of a fairytale.”

The Planner Shares,

“The party was held at Samantha’s Garden’s flagship venue in Springdale, which set the perfect backdrop for this floral wonderland. Every design element was intentionally chosen: linens from BBJ La Tavola, and Choice Party Linens, elegant wooden chairs from Alchemy Event Rentals, and stunning backdrops by Post Party Co. Our florals were woven throughout the space – from delicate tabletop arrangements to full floor installs that brought the room to life.”

The Planner Continues,

“A carousel mural from Atelier Choux Paris inspired the design, accented by a dreamy balloon installation from Confetti NWA and sweet signage by Dayflower Designs. Mila’s cake by Shelby Lynn’s Cakes perfectly echoed the theme, and treats from Butter and Blooms and Betty’s Berrys added an extra layer of sweetness.

Kids enjoyed the bounce house and soft play zone by Bunny Hop Mobile, while adults adored the nostalgic charm of our custom Kotton and Kandy Cart. Mila’s smash cake moment – framed by florals and love – was a highlight for everyone.”

The Planner Concludes,

“The day was beautifully captured by Seathompson Photography and Dave and a Camera, with Love That Social & Liv Ella Films creating fun content to relive the magic.

This day was so much more than just a birthday. It was a celebration of life, family, and the love that surrounds Mila every single day.”

Mila’s first birthday was the kind of celebration you never forget – full of love, laughter, and the sweetest little details. Ready to step into a whimsical fairy tale? This whimsical fairy party is filled with magic, joy, and all the dreamy details you could imagine! With the amazing Pass the Pastel Events leading the way, this styled shoot brought to life a beautiful floral garden bursting with pastel hues, delicate butterflies, and mossy accents. From the adorable fairy wings to the delicious mocktails, every corner of this whimsical fairy party strikes the perfect balance of fun and elegance. Whether it’s the charming mushroom decor or the sweet floral fencing, this party is packed with inspiration for anyone dreaming of creating their own enchanted celebration.

From The Planner

“For this styled shoot, I orchestrated every detail with the whimsy and wonder of our four-year-old’s birthday party in mind. I chose a fairy floral garden theme, which perfectly matched my love for all things floral. The concept was built around abundant florals, moss accents, enchanting butterfly decor, and a dreamy palette of pink and purple hues.”

The Planner Continues,

“The look truly came together when I discovered these beautiful teak and velvet mushrooms. They added the perfect touch of enchantment to the overall design. I wanted to strike a balance that would appeal to children and adults, and this was achieved with whimsical butterfly motifs, pastel color schemes, vibrant balloon garlands, and sophisticated touches like chic mocktails, floral fencing, and bold tablescapes.”

“The mocktails not only looked gorgeous but were also delicious! By choosing mocktails, I made sure guests of all ages could join in the fun. The models, dressed as ethereal fairies, embodied the spirit of childhood joy as they played with fairy wands and shared flowers.”

The Planner Reflects,

“Fairy details were sprinkled throughout the event – from charming fairy benches and ladders adorning the cake (who wouldn’t want to hang out on top of a cake?) to the delicate fairy wings worn by models. A particularly magical element was the white picket fence that adorned the venue, reminiscent of cottage-core gardens where blooms peek through. This vision came to life thanks to my collaboration with Kimberly from Chloe Rose Design, creating a truly enchanting entrance.”

“Finally, Megan from Cousin Cookie created adorable cookies that perfectly matched the invitation design by Tati Abaurre. My favorite was the sweet little bunny cookie!”

“This event was a true labor of love, and I couldn’t be happier with how the final design turned out. It’s a true testament to the creativity and dedication of everyone involved – it was a real team effort!”

Turning two couldn’t be cuter with this 2 boo-tiful Halloween themed birthday party! Sparkles and bows were certainly not out of the question when A Party That Pops dreamed up this adorable girl’s birthday party. Everything was perfectly on theme for the spooky season, while still being totally girly and super fun. There was everything from friendly ghost decor to pink bow accents! Keep scrolling to see the precious details that we fell in love with.

From The Planner,

“The Halloween party I’ve been thinking about for a year has finally come to fruition. What once was “Two Spooky” or “Two Cute To Spook” transformed into the dreamiest Halloween party for a girls girl who loves pink bows, glitter, and all things trendy. This 2 Boo-tiful Halloween birthday party formed after seeing how much my daughter loved her Halloween themed books (You’re My Little Pumpkin Pie, anyone?) and how much I loved a scary-cute Halloween party. I knew I wanted it to be a sparkly scene with pink and orange Halloween accents and that’s exactly what I got.”

The Planner Continues,

“My favorite parts of this girly Halloween party included:

  • Girly ghost with bow backdrop
  • Personalized bow place settings
  • DIY glitter pumpkins
  • Spray painted jack-o-lanterns as boo baskets
  • DIY cardboard playhouses turned into trick or treat village for the kids”

Having an October birthday is all the more fun because it means it’s both your birth-month and spooky season! This couldn’t ring more true for photographer Shannon Von Eschen, who has been celebrating her little boy with Halloween-themed birthday parties and spooky soirees for over a decade. Yes– that’s right. Over a decade! Each year, Shannon’s Halloween birthday parties seem to get better and better, and this year was no exception. It wasn’t ghoul’s or goblins that took over this epic Halloween themed birthday party, but rather…flying witches instead! Read on to see the wicked details of this bewitching birthday bash and read the story of how Shannon brought everything to life.

The Photographer Shares,

“It’s no secret that me and my October-born boy love all things fall and, yes, Halloween! But when it comes to the types of spooks and scares we’re usually drawn to, our family of “Bones” (as we lovingly call all our posable skeletons) usually take the cake! But this year…our skellie friends took a bit of a back seat after my husband and I stood next to a twelve-foot-tall, flying witch at a local hardware store. We immediately looked at each other, seeing there was only one left to buy; the box nearly too big for our truck bed. “Eli will die; you have to get this!” my husband, Jason, said to me. That’s exactly the “metaphorical” reaction I was hoping for, I remember thinking. Thus, this gigantic witch won us all over, and Eli’s 11th Birthday Bash, Witch Season, was born.”

The Photographer Adds,

“After a decade of throwing parties for my son Eli, there was a part of me that was unsure how to make this specific one spooky enough. A room full of witches does seem rather spooky, but of course I wanted all of my witches to be more mystical + fun than creepy + scary, so I started with the first things that sparked my inspiration: an eerie, cackling laugh and a pointed hat! I decided I wanted to create a haunted forest. Think live trees, dead trees, Spanish moss, misty fog, eerie sounds, things to climb on, over, and in; and the biggest undertaking and thrill: an abandoned witch’s cabin.”

“Among some of the best bits of this party was our aforementioned, large, Hovering Witch, whom we appropriately named Itty Bitty Betty. A towering 12’ in the air above, she “flew” over our final banquet table. Her broom, held by one hand, was the only thing grounding her as she twisted her head, flashed open her eyes, and cast out spells with a bewitchingly charming voice. If you weren’t looking close, you might almost miss her, she was so high! But high enough to not touch the flickering candle flames just below her, or the candied apples, brownie bites, apple-frosted cookies, or sugary honey-sticks to try sneak away with.”

The Photographer Continues,

“Just outside the doorway of the cabin, an antique cider press sat full of delectable apples. Detestable, but delectable potion cookies of “Spider Venom” and “Worm Warts,” candied black apples, and spider-leg lollipops were among the cabin eats. You could find herbs, dried flowers, crystals, and small healing stones throughout every surface inside, just waiting for their time to shine in making the most perfect potions. Flickering candles, cinnamon scented broomsticks, and an antique “spells” book lay across the mantle, just above the bubbling cauldron, which contained the skull of one unsuspecting victim. But not to be too frightened: the sweetest, pink-nosed, black kitten, perched itself up on a shelf to the delight of all visitors. Because every good witch needs the perfect black cat, companion!”

“As for cake: Eli and I lovingly made his birthday cake together! It was definitely a first for us! Two nights before the big event, we whipped up the blackest, gluten-free coconut flavored frosting we could. Two simple shaped platform and pillar gluten-free Chantilly and vanilla cakes were then slathered by us both! Our fingers were solid black, as were our mouths from licking the spoon of our mixture at the end! I added a branch from one of our favorite Golden Rain trees for a bit of witchy décor, and we placed it on a blacked out tray of Spanish moss. Two tall candles stood proudly to represent his amazing 11 years. Because we made it together, it was one of my most favorite cakes to create ever.”

“And for the outdoor fun, costumed guests played “Dead Head Toss,” which is much like Corn Hole, but only with “dead heads,” and a FrisBee Witched game, in which brave souls tossed witches hats onto pegged skull heads. It was quite the fun challenge, but utterly dreadful too.”

This Halloween themed birthday party is getting us in the spooky spirit! If you’re looking for more inspiration, be sure to check out this ‘Let’s Go Ghoul’s Halloween Party!

Calling all pastel and floral lovers! Today we’re showcasing a bat mitzvah that was inspired by LoveShackFancy and let’s just say it: we’re obsessed! With lush pink florals and bow accents everywhere, every detail was perfectly curated for the most Instagram-worthy day. Scroll down to see more and to hear what the planner and designer has to share!

SDK Photo & Design

From Mom,

“We went to the LoveShackFancy store on Melrose a year before Emma’s bat mitzvah just for fun to look for a bat mitzvah dress for her. We found her dress that day – we also fell in love with the store! Emma loves pink and gold, and we both love the bohemian look and feel and all the patterns and flowers so it snowballed from there. “

SDK Photo & Design

From the Planner,

“Since the team at The Planning Society also loves LoveShackFancy it made it especially fun to collaborate, create and plan Emma’s celebration. Just entering into a LSF store is such a fun and beautiful experience. The patterns, the fragrances, the creativity, this lifestyle brand has really been fun to watch evolve and we don’t know which collaboration we love more.”

The Planning Society began researching the lifestyle brand, more so than just looking casually at the beautiful dresses – the prints, fabrics, the al fresco dinner parties they create. We really wanted Emma’s guests to feel as though they entered into the world of LoveShackFancy. The overall feel was to create a fancy, feminine, vintage, boho English garden tea party vibe with lots of pinks (the more pink the better), consisting mostly of lighter pinks with pops of fuchsia and gold accents. To create this look, The Little Branch used roses, lisianthus, ranunculus, spray roses and peonies and candelabras. Bows were tastefully abundant throughout the space. “

SDK Photo & Design

“Every detail was intentional – one of our favorite highlights was the LSF vinyl bar setup with matching mocktail and cocktail signs! Emma had an interactive photo booth where guests were able to sit on a flower filled swing set within one of LSF’s beautiful prints as if they were swinging in the garden of a LSF party. A vintage and floral mirror was set next to the booth for extra decor and selfies. There was a vinyl all-pink candy cart and giant custom bows hanging from the chandeliers around the room. Emma’s flash tattoo parlor was filled with floral options and a vintage, boho dessert table completed the evening. Emma’s merch store with custom totes, hats and hoodies were a huge hit with all of the guests. Guests didn’t leave the dance floor as top LA Entertainment company, D’ City Sound, was spinning tunes all night. Fun fact, the family has known Dwayne, D’ City’s owner for decades as the family and Dwayne are all from suburban Detroit and have known each other for decades so naturally, D’ City was the perfect fit for this party.”

Oh deer! This woodland themed 1st birthday party is too cute to miss! As an event planner mom, Yoko of Two Perfect Events knew just how to celebrate her daughter Noa’s first birthday. Inspired by Noa’s adoration for their family dog Koko, who bears a striking resemblance to a fawn, Two Perfect Events transformed their space into a playful English countryside adorned with magic and deer! The deer themed birthday party was a perfect fit for their whimsical little one. Read on to see all of the enchanting details for this first birthday party!

The planner shares,

“A playful backdrop by Boho Loko Studio featured some of Noa’s treasured stuffed animals from Cuddle + Kind, complemented by balloons, butterflies, and the same deer featured on the invitation.”

The planner continues,

“The invitation set the tone with a picnic basket with a pink gingham ribbon as the cover to open up to a fun deer & picnic themed invitation with a photo of Noa in a deer outfit. Everything at the party matched both the colors of the invitation as well as the designs.”

“The party was filled with golden kiwis (Noa’s favorite fruit) painted with a deer print along with disco balls and pink butterflies scattered about. Guests were greeted at the welcome table by an array of fruits and a delicate floral arrangement, with the opportunity to sign the wooden ‘N’ as a cherished keepsake – now displayed in Noa’s room.”

“There was a safe play area, where Noa’s friends could play with inflatable disco balls & other toys. The parents could enjoy both alcoholic & non-alcoholic slushies and other beverages but TÖST was a big hit as a non-alcoholic champagne option that still felt like an adult drink! For lunch, the adults could enjoy a build-your-own poke bowl station & sushi (a nod to Noa’s Japanese background) along with some baby friendly foods. The lunch table for Noa and her friends was transformed into a picturesque picnic spot, complete with a sweet & playful floral arrangement by Seva Floral, a leaf green gingham tablecloth, felt toy cookies in tiny baskets, sippy wine cups, wooden utensils, scalloped (unbreakable!) bamboo plates, and napkins sourced from the UK.”

“Our guests were gifted magnet favors which could display mini polaroid photos taken with the backdrop. On their way out, there was a selection of fruits that they could pick from baskets. It was a joyous celebration filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments, marking the beginning of many more magical adventures for our little Noa.”

A superhero birthday party theme is perfect for all ages and genders. The color scheme options are endless, the decor ideas are countless, and the overall party aesthetic is entertaining and exciting. This superhero birthday party is filled with lightning bolts, arts and crafts and the cutest tablescape! From the balloons, to the florals, to the small details, this birthday celebration hits all the right notes!

The planner shares,

“Nothing like a superhero loving kid to put a smile on your face! My son, Court, was the same way when he was little. He loved all things superheroes and would dress up all the time and I LOVED it! Well, our buddy, Blake, is equally as in love with all things Superheroes and wanted that theme for his party. We went all out with fun colors, amazing tabletop, cute desserts and more for him!”

The planner continues,

“This party was held at Camp Lila’s incredible location and was sadly the last party they had before they had to move. It will always be a favorite, as we loved that space so much!!  Camp Lila is our go to for fun arts & crafts for our kid parties and they did the coolest Spider Man painting with all of the kids at the party. It’s always fun to have the kids get creative and also bring home their beautiful work as a favor from the party!

Sweet Salvage Rentals brought their amazing array of furniture, dessert shelves, the high tops for the parents, and more.  The Pop Shop did her thing, adding lots of fun pops of color throughout the party with her amazing balloons. I especially love the confetti ones!  One of the best elements of the party was Poppy Jack Shop’s details and signage. She created such fun graphics that really added a wow factor to the party.  We set the kid’s table with Meri Meri’s super hero collection and added confetti and gorgeous flowers from Earth & Grace.  Lots of color and lots of fun!!

Lastly, adults were treated to a bar with fun cocktails and the kiddos were treated to delicious Susie Cakes cupcakes.  Happy faces all around and everything was captured beautifully by the talented Blaire Going.”

If you love a colorful event, you will love this colorful seaside wedding. The peach toned flowers with greenery and adorned tablescape have us swooning over this event all over again.

What’s better than gathering your closest friends and family to celebrate your littles first birthday party? Combining it with a house warming party in the backyard of your brand new home, of course! Not only is this backyard stunning and perfect for hosting, but it’s modern white style really made this under the sea birthday party theme pop! The shades of teal and orange along with the stunning floral arrangements created the cutest and most playful atmosphere. This party has all the right details, keeping both the kids and adults entertained.

The planner shares,

“Henry was turning one and his parents were ready to celebrate that big first year! Not only did they have a newborn, but they also went through the process of purchasing and doing a major remodel of their home! So, it was a double party – a first birthday and a house warming.

Due to all of the rain we had this year, the party date got moved around a bit, but that rain was fitting for our theme – an Under the Sea soiree! With lots of blue mixed with pops of orange and green, we created this super fun party for kids and adults to celebrate Henry!”

The planner shares the details,

“Our talented friend, Chelcea Creative, took care of all of the signage and details for this under the sea birthday party. She made sure that the signs were not only adorable, but on theme with pun after pun.  Creative Amme handled all of the laser cutting with the best team! The cutest table and chairs from Sweet Salvage Rentals was topped with Meri Meri plates, cups, and napkins. It all looked so sweet together!! Not Just in Novels finished the look with her amazing floral arrangements. Under the sea perfection!!

The Pop Shop did all of the beautiful balloons through-out the party and created an adorable backdrop for our music show! That’s right, the little guests were treated to some music fun with all that under the sea cuteness behind it. Plus, they had the best little soft play area from Play Play Zone to get all their wiggles out.

We also had a Sweet Salvage Rentals lounge for adults to relax. Adults could also relax with high tops and could move around the party following their kiddos. Guests were treated to ‘on theme’ cocktails by the talented Mike West and delicious bites from Nectarine Grove. Of course, a smash cake is a must for a 1st birthday, and Henry was adorable gobbling it up!”

We absolutely love first birthday parties! There are so many different directions you can go with each year’s theme. If you love the playful ‘under the sea’ theme, but want to add some more glitter and girly elements, we have the perfect inspiration you need with this shell-ebration first birthday party!

This Luca inspired and Portorosso, Italy birthday party celebration works perfectly together! The combination of the pastel color palettes from both slides blends flawlessly. We love the large outdoor space that the vendors filled to bring these unique themes to life. You know that we are huge fans of balloon displays, and this party is no exception. Truly, we think the multitude of balloons is what unified these two different themes for the perfect dual birthday party celebration.

The event designer shares,

“This party is what event designer dreams are made of! I was honored to create this beautiful space for a 1 and 3 year old birthday celebration. As always, Sincerely Capri Events was by my side to help me bring the props and panels to life. She makes all of my crazy dreams come true!! 3 year old Levi loves the movie Luca- and his name fits perfectly in the logo! 1 year old Capri came straight from a little seaside Italian town, obviously. So, naturally, we created our own mini, muted, pretty version of Portorosso!

You guys, I watched the movie, studied the geography, took cliff notes….and our inspired party was born! This 5 panel backdrop is a perfect combo of Luca’s seaside adventure meets lemon trees in Capri, Italy! I even made Capri her own postcard (which is a fun element pulled from the movie).”

The event designer shares the details,

“The backdrop meets in the middle with an Italian brick arch bubbling full of pretty balloons, and a Vespa to get around in. I worked so hard to create a cohesive look, but still separate each side so it felt special to each child.

Sincerely Capri nailed those gorgeous florals and functioning shutters!!

Keeping all character elements in a muted gray line drawing really set the modern tone for us, but still allowed the theme to shine through. I am obsessed with every last detail, including those little lemon balloons and Target dollar bin birdies!

I’m always brainstorming new ways to frame a ball pit… for Luca, we went with an ocean theme and YES, THAT IS A BOAT! The idea was to fill the ball pit with white and blue balls, pretending that it was an ocean… and this boat was floating away on it. Then, Luca pops up and a bird lands on his head!”

The event designer continues,

“This event gave me a big grass canvas to work with – so much space!! I wanted to make sure the walking pathway guided you from one thing to the next. Important pieces like the happy birthday moment and the drinks had to be centrally located. I decided to face the whole party towards the parking lot, so it greeted you with big open arms as you got out of your car.

At the center point of entry, there was a small roundabout with two benches surrounding a “fountain”. Just beyond that, was the dessert setup; right in the middle of the party!

Each vendor was staggered as not to block the next with our large pieces flanking the perimeter- the backdrop and ball pit. The flow of vendors gave a bit of a “town vibe”, since after all, we were in Capri, Italy!”

Are you as in love with a pastel color palette as we are? If you are, then you’ll love this garden wedding featuring pastel hues.
