So we rolled up our sleeves, cracked open Pinterest, and boom – vision unlocked. We were dreaming in contrast: masculine vs. feminine, soft vs. strong, yin and yang. This shoot is more than a nod to the past – it’s a reimagining. A love letter to the ‘90s, but through a lens of quiet luxury and intentional design.”

“When the couple got engaged in 2023, they envisioned a Florida wedding filled with sunshine, joy, and the perfect detail – lemons, which they view as a symbol of life’s zest and sweetness. Five months after getting engaged, they bought their first home. It wasn’t until closing that they discovered the house, originally built in 1920, had long ago been given the name “Lemon Tree Cottage”. In that moment, they knew it was completely meant to be. Lemons were delicately woven throughout the wedding design, from the custom illustrations and invitation suite artfully crafted by Script Me Pretty, to the custom-built lemon tree and escort display at cocktail hour, to the playful wallpaper patterns and bowls of fresh lemons on the bars, and even a few peeking through the floral centerpieces.“

“Some love stories are so timeless they feel like they belong in the movies – Rachel and Ben’s is one of them. Together since middle school, they’ve grown up side by side, creating a foundation of love, laughter, and adventure. So when we had the chance to document their engagement in one of the most iconic cities in the world, we knew it was going to be something special.”

“While we, and Rachel and Ben are all based in Indianapolis, we share a deep love for NYC. Their engagement session was originally planned for Newfields, one of our favorite spots back home, but after a few scheduling conflicts (hello, unpredictable Midwest weather!), we found out they were heading to New York for the weekend. It felt meant to be. With Adam catching an early-morning flight, we quickly pivoted and mapped out the perfect plan – starting in Brooklyn and ending with golden hour in Central Park.”

“The session kicked off in the soft morning light at the Brooklyn Bridge. But first, we had to stop at the famous DUMBO viewpoint – because is it really an NYC engagement session without those cobbled streets and brick facades framing the skyline? Even in the hustle and bustle of the city, we focused on keeping the session intimate and relaxed, reading Rachel and Ben’s body language and adjusting before they even noticed. That’s a huge part of our process – making sure every couple feels at ease, no matter how many people are around or how grand the setting may be. And Adam? He absolutely nailed it, guiding them through each shot while making sure the background was filled with romance, not distractions.”

“After soaking in Brooklyn, we hopped on the subway and made our way to Manhattan – because, let’s be real, nothing says NYC like a train ride together. The day was unseasonably warm for fall, but that only made the energy of the city feel even more electric. Rachel and Ben had a quick outfit change, and we spent the rest of the session strolling through Central Park, letting them take it all in. They reminisced about their years together, laughing over memories from when they first started dating as kids. It was effortless, fun, and a true reflection of who they are – classic, joyful, and full of love.”

It’s the kind of concept that makes you rethink everything you thought you knew about wedding dress shopping. If you’ve always dreamed of wearing something that feels timeless and heirloom-worthy, but maybe your Grandma’s gown doesn’t quite fit (literally or stylistically), this is your fairytale middle ground. The model was able to slip into a piece dripping with old-world charm, intricate lace, and delicate details without the commitment of buying. It’s romantic, renting a gown this gorgeous feels a little like borrowing something magical from a vintage bridal dream.”

“Dylan and Robin’s story begins in the City of Sin. Robin, with enough liquid courage, took it upon herself to approach Dylan and his friends who all had a defeated look on their faces during the last day of the trip. Their first date consisted of loud music, (unsuccessful) gambling, and sharing a platter of chicken nuggets. It was an instant connection. Dylan went back to New Jersey and Robin went back to Los Angeles, but the two were inseparable. Never missed a phone call, an opportunity to FaceTime or to have a virtual date night. One year after they met, the long distance days were over. Dylan packed his things and made the move to LA. The big day was everything they could have wanted and more. They were dead set on San Diego as it was the first IRL date location (post Vegas). They fell in love there so it held many special memories and bringing all their closest friends to the coolest city, can’t beat it!”

Where was the wedding location and the venue details? Why did you choose it? 

“We picked Venue 808 in Downtown San Diego as it fit our vision perfectly. Our first date spot was at Kettner Exchange, so we wanted to bring that vibe into our day! Which meant good food, good vibes, and a great atmosphere that was unique. Being located in Downtown San Diego, it was also extremely convenient for people to get to, which was a huge factor for us. We didn’t want anyone to worry about driving, and wanted to give everyone the ability to walk around and explore. We love the city feel and knew everyone would love it as much as we do!”

Any advice for future brides? 

“Live in the moment! Don’t let anything get to you and don’t spend energy worrying. You’re marrying your absolute best friend, so don’t let anything get in your way. The bride also sets the tone for the dance floor and energy, so if you want it to be a party – BRING IT!”
