01. Victorian Puzzle Purse

One of the oldest recorded Valentine’s is on display in the Postal Museum and dates back to the year 1790! It is known as the Puzzle Purse Valentine – a single large sheet to paper folded to a smaller size. The idea is that once it’s received, the puzzle is to unfold it in the right way to read the handwritten love notes within the folds. You can purchase these pre-made by local artisans, or you can make them for yourself!

“Everyone loves a Classic Valentine’s Day!  Red and Pink are such a great color combination and there’s something about the classic heart vibe that is just so nostalgic and fun.  That was the main inspiration for this shoot, along with Meri Meri’s adorable Valentine’s tabletop collection that helped guide me in the right direction.  I added Sophistiplate’s red and gold flatware to complete the place settings.  The plates reminded me of the old Valentine’s you would see with the sweet doilies, which are so cute and classic!  We started things off with an adorable invite from Poppy Jack Shop who also did all of the perfect Valentine’s Day details.”

The planner continues,

“Of course my favorite team of vendors helped bring my vision to life.  Sweet Salvage Rentals has the most amazing kid’s rentals and we love having them at our parties.  Their red chairs were absolutely perfect for this setting!  The Pop Shop did the amazing balloon installation behind our table. It was filled with all the Valentine goodness we know and love!  Of course the flowers were gorgeous.  Not Just in Novels brought arrangements of roses and sweet peas, and I’m not talking any old grocery store rose, I’m talking the most gorgeous and magnificent roses you’ll ever see!  One of my most favorite parts of this shoot was Danielle Keene of Sheila Mae’s AMAZING cakes!  She made a series of cakes that were all Valentine’s Day themed and truly incredible.

Last but not least, our kid’s parties always bring out the most adorable littles!! The Daydream Republic recruits and styles our models! She added her adorable accessories that are such fun Valentine’s Day gifts as well!  Ultimately, we brought together a great group of vendors to bring this Valentine’s Day fabulousness to life. We are pretty obsessed with it and hope you are too!”

Lip Gloss

Y’all, there’s a reason bareMinerals has been around a long time – they just know what they’re doing! Their Mineralist Lip Gloss Balm is one of my go-to to clean makeup products stashed in my purse for touch-ups while I’m out and about. It’s super hydrating, vegan (!), and, perhaps most importantly, is NOT sticky. I’d call that a win!

Elizabeth Burgi Photography shares the inspiration behind this valentine themed wedding shoot,

“A rose by any other name would be as sweet,” according to William Shakespeare, so in this shoot, they let it rain roses. This Valentine-themed wedding shoot makes you want to get married on one of the most romantic days of the year. Heather Benge kept the colors simple, with red and white splashed against the dark wood tones. The ever-beautiful Wadley Farms was the location, which always puts off a romantic vibe.

I loved Krystal’s dress from Styled Gowns. It’s what I imagine Juliet would’ve worn when she married Romeo. Jordan wore a white tie-on white shirt which I thought was a neat switch up from the classic tux.

The Dessert Studio in Utah went above and beyond with three separate wedding cakes that had cascading flowers on top. I loved the ceremony place cards from Eros Stationery because they put a wax stamp on each one giving them an old-world touch. The floral archway adorned with roses made the perfect aisle for Krystal and Jordan to walk down. It’s a straightforward way to make your ceremony look like a real-life fairy tale.

After seeing Valentine’s Day captured so beautifully into this shoot, we are off to celebrate! However you’re spending the holiday, we hope you have a wonderful day. I gathered inspiration from the color pallets of So Cal sunsets, peaches, and mauves. Each lady had a peachy escort card and a gorgeous menu created by Hand Lettered By Tiffany. Adorable jute tote bags by Modern Vintage Market graced the backs of each chair. These totes were filled with some of our favorites. From Peach lip gloss to personalized sourdough breads with rosé jam to bad-ass babe tees who wouldn’t want to go home with this grab bag?! Florals by GD Flowers and Design were soft yet playful while giving the table a bright and fun tone.

Around here grazing boards are never going out of style…more cheese, please. Feast and Floral created a board to love with sweet and savory favorites. Sourdough by Sachi created flour flowers and personalized sourdough bread. I am pretty sure these need to be a forever thing being that they are as tasty as they are decorative.

Sweets and Treats By Tamar created a gorgeous peach cake with buttercream frosting and Sift Dessert Bar Peachy Champagne cupcakes, macarons, and ginger whoopie cookies. Last but not least there was brunch punch. What’s a party without some cocktails topped with bubbles and drink art!? Camp craft cocktails graced our coupes with hints of citrus and Sweets and Stuff created some peachy custom drink toppers adding just the right amount of flair!

Right now more than ever is the time to share the love and come together. What I love about this soiree is that you can see the inspo and easily recreate it to be a virtual one as well if needed. We loved how this all turned out (we hope you do to) and Olivia Marshall captured it perfectly through her lens!
